LifeGrid ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension and Web Application collect, use, and safeguard your information.

1. User-Provided Information
- Life Configuration: We collect the birth date and expected lifespan you enter to generate your life grid visualization.
- Journal Entries: If you choose to use the journaling feature, we collect the text, emojis, and dates associated with your entries.
- Preferences: We store your display preferences such as theme (light/dark) and visualization units (weeks/months/years).
2. Automatically Collected Information
- Authentication Data: When you sign in with Google, we transform your Google credentials into a unique User ID to secure your data. We do not store your Google password.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Provide and personalize the life grid visualization.
- Securely store and retrieve your private journal entries.
- Sync your settings and data across your devices (when signed in).
Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Your configuration settings (birth date, lifespan, theme) are stored locally on your device or in your browser's sync storage.
- Cloud Storage: If you sign in, your journal entries and configuration settings (such as birth date and lifespan) may be securely stored in Google Firebase Firestore to verify and sync your data across devices.
- Security: We use industry-standard encryption and authentication (Google Auth) to protect your data. Identifying data is restricted to the authenticated user.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase Account & Database: For authentication and secure data storage.
- Chrome Web Store: For distributing the extension updates.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all your data within the application.
- Delete: You can delete specific journal entries or sign out to clear local data. You can contact us to request full account deletion.
